This policy explains what personal information GuideBased (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit guidebased.com or buy a guide, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Order details: when you buy, we collect your name, email address, billing address and (optionally) phone number, plus the guide you bought, the price and the date.
- Payment details: card and wallet payments are handled by WooPayments (powered by Stripe). Your full card number goes straight to them; we don’t see or store it.
- Your email choices: whether you ticked the box to get product emails, and whether you ticked the box asking us to follow up about how the guide worked for you.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or through our Request a Guide form, such as a refund request or a topic suggestion. If you leave your email on that form, we use it only to tell you when a guide on your topic is ready.
- Usage information: basic information about how the site is used, such as pages visited, browser type and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar tools by our hosting and analytics providers.
How we use it
- To process your order, deliver your download and send your receipt.
- To answer your questions and handle refunds.
- If you opted in to follow-up: to email you after your purchase to ask how the guide worked and whether you’d leave a review.
- If you opted in to product emails: to tell you about new guides and offers. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To prevent fraud, keep the site secure, and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run the store for us, and only as needed for them to do that job:
- WordPress.com / Automattic: website hosting, WooCommerce, Jetpack and site statistics.
- WooPayments and Stripe: payment processing and fraud prevention. If you choose WooPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Amazon Pay, that provider also processes your payment details under its own privacy policy.
- MailPoet: sending emails to people who opted in.
- Google Workspace: our business email.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights and customers.
Cookies
The site uses cookies to keep your cart working, complete checkout securely, remember preferences and measure site traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but checkout may not work without them.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for tax and accounting purposes, usually up to 7 years. We keep email-list information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing adonis.manzano@guidebased.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; we’ll honor requests as the law requires. Records we must keep by law, such as order and tax records, may be retained even after a deletion request.
Children
Our guides are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
